Our Story

designers-alameda-turquesaAlameda Turquesa brand was founded by a mother and daughter duo, Ana and Carolina. Ana is an entrepreneur, and Carolina is a young architect with a master degree from one of the top architecture schools in Europe. It all started with a hobby, turned into our passion, turned into a business.

This family business started back in 2012, on Facebook, with a pom pom bracelet that Ana made to her two daughters. After the huge success of her bracelets and necklaces, that went viral in the web, Alameda Turquesa established as a shoe designer, putting literally her bracelets on our feet in 2014. ‘Matisse’ and ‘Santorini’ pom pom sandals became one of the most iconic sandals ever, with every fashion star from Anna Dello Russo to Chiara Ferragni wearing and sharing on instagram their Alameda Turquesa’s pom pom sandals.

Three years after, they have launched another collection ‘Pearls & Seashells’ that continue to be a best seller these days, with designs like ‘Ariel’ or ‘Guadeloupe’ being one the most recognisable brand’s designs.

The worldwide footwear authority FootwearNews named Alameda Turquesa one of the next big names in shoes, stating they were one of industry rising stars.

Alameda Turquesa is renown for its iconic pom pom and tassels motifs and has now fashion yet traditional collections, focus on luxury details combining colors, textures and materials. These signature trims are hand-applied in Portugal, were all Alameda Turquesa pieces are designed and handcrafted with the most exquisite details, combining bold colors and textured materials.  It is all made in Portugal, known to be one of the most important areas for shoe luxury craftsmanship in the world.

Recently the likes of Kylie Jenner, Olivia Palermo, Amanda Gorman, Irina Shayk, Lily Collins, Katy Perry, Princess Alexandra of Hanover, Sofia Vergara,  Emma Roberts, Eva Chen,  have been spotted in some of the label’s designs.

In 2018 Alameda Turquesa debuted their signature statement bags. The bags have been featured in major international publications like Vogue, Elle, Vanity Fair, Glamour among others.

In 2021 Forbes said that “Alameda Turquesa created the ‘It’ shoe in the middle of a Pandemic’ referring to the iconic Pinctada Shearling pearl designed launched in 2020. You can read more about us on Forbes here.
